About us

We are part of an organization of over 100 temples, Zen centers, and Zen groups around the world. Our Zen tradition is founded on the teachings of the Korean Zen Master Seung Sahn. The direction of this Zen tradition is to attain our true selves and help this world.

Now, after many years of practice, the Kwan Um Czech Sangha has begun the project of building a rural retreat center. This retreat center will allow us to hold retreats of any length, offer daily morning and evening practice, and provide residential Zen training, both short- and long-term, to monastic and lay practitioners. Our mission is to build a practicing place where everyone is welcome to come, practice together, and support one another in our shared direction. We also hope to be a strong part of the local community so that everyone can benefit from our activities, and together we can build a better world.

Although we are currently under construction, we already offer daily meditation practice, as well as regular retreats and other events.

We welcome you to visit us, and very much appreciate any support you can provide for this project. Thank you!
